Ice Cube On Jerry Heller: ”I Ain’t Gonna Shed No Tears”

The beef between Ice Cube and Jerry Heller has not cooled even though Heller died late last week week. In an interview, Ice Cube seemed impartial to the Ruthless Records co-founder’s death. Ruthless was the company owned by Eazy-E that sparked the careers of Ice Cube, N.W.A. and many others.
“I didn’t have no emotions. I’m just glad I’m with my brothers today. I’m glad I’m with DJ Yella, I’m glad I’m with MC Ren today, it’s only right,” Ice Cube told Detroit radio station, Hot 107.5.
“I ain’t gonna pop no champagne, but I ain’t gonna shed no tears either,” the rapper/actor continued. “It is what it is. We come here to pass, and he’s outta here. Like I said, I’m not losing no sleep over that one.”
Heller and Cube’s conflict goes back decades and continued up until Heller’s death last Friday. Heller had an active lawsuit that alleged he was defamed in the movie “Straight Outta Compton,” which was produced by Ice Cube and Dr. Dre.
Jerry Heller’s obituary countered Ice Cube’s assertions.
The statement said, “In real life, there were never any financial indiscretions on Hellers’ part. Nor was Heller ever sued by any artist during his long career. No financial indiscretions were ever found, or proven to exist when it came to Ruthless Records or Jerry Heller.”
The obit also dismissed the notion that Eazy-E fired Heller, who was a 50/50 partner with Eazy-E.
