Master P On Dissing Kobe Bryant Over Lamar Odom: "The Truth Hurts".

EXCLUSIVE: "I feel like a lot of people wanted to say what I said," Master P says. "I feel I said what I could say because I know those people."

Master P came under fire last week after he criticized Kobe Bryant and Khloe Kardashian for rushing to Lamar Odom’s bedside after the former NBA player was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel. In an exclusive conversation with HipHopDX, the No Limit Records founder explained why he called Bryant and Kardashian “phony.” He also says he has no plans to retract his comments.
“I ruffled a couple of feathers this week because I told my opinion about the Kardashians and [Kobe Bryant],” Percy Miller says to HipHopDX exclusively. “I ain’t gonna change it. The truth hurts. I feel like a lot of people wanted to say what I said. I feel I said what I could say because I know those people. I know Lamar. I knew everything that was going on with him. I tell people this all the time, ‘A house without foundation or support will collapse.’ Don’t give me that foundation and support at the end. You gotta give that to me all the way through. That ain’t me being hypocritical because, yeah my brother [C-Murder] is in prison. But he in prison because of his actions. I been supporting him all the way through. I’m not gonna run to somebody when they’re down or whatever they’re going through and I’m not gonna change what I say. Also, When you lose sight of what matters, you’re not alive. So some of those things matter to me. It can be a different opinion for somebody else. Y’all made up opinions about me all the time. Go look at your site. I ain’t trip. I just took my licks and it is what it is.
“For now, I ain’t gonna say people phony. I’ma say they doing the most. Everybody in every hood and in Corporate America, next time I’m gonna say ‘They doing the most.’ Harvey Levin say things about me, it can be true or false, I don’t get mad. But I guess sometimes if it’s your favorite player or your favorite entertainer, it’s reality.”
Despite the largely negative backlash to the comments, Master P says that a number of people thanked him for making a statement.
“Some people hit me up like, ‘P, I’m glad you said that because nobody was gonna think about it,’ he says. “It’s like, what is [Khloe] gonna do when Lamar get up? What’s gonna happen with James Harden? That was her boyfriend. But guess what? That ain’t my business. Y’all gonna see. Y’all see how many times Kobe call that man’s phone if he really got that type of love for him. Maybe he can change his mind. That’s his business. To me, the word ‘phony’ in New Orleans, that’s a New Orleans term, I might say that about my partner. But they ain’t gonna show everything on the TMZ. They not gonna show it. They gonna show whatever to make us all go against each other, but guess what? I’m still gonna go to a couple Lakers’ games. I can still tell anybody to they face how I feel. It’s just an opinion. It ain’t facts. People say what they want about me. It ain’t facts. It’s an opinion. I can go back to my nice car and to my nice mansion and chill.
“The man been in a coma. Somebody had to speak for him because nobody looked at what was happening last week with this brother. Even though he was doing some crazy things. Nobody didn’t do that to him. Kobe didn’t do that. She didn’t do that. He did it to himself. Only thing I say is a house without foundation or support is gonna collapse. I look at Lamar’s situation. He was traded to the [New Orleans Pelicans] for Chris Paul. Who did that? Then he went to the [Dallas Mavericks]. Then he came back to the Los Angeles Clippers. That’s what I mean by that foundation and support. If you gonna run out the gym for this man, you’ve gotta show that support.”
Master P’s new single “Freaky” is out now. His upcoming project, Empire Album will be available on November 28. Let us know if you agree with P’s perspective.
